I'm still recovering from our trip to California--I have started a blog post from our first leg-- San Fran! I just thought these pictures were so cute they deserved a post of their own!

1st Dental Appointment
She looks like a pro. But.... well, she only had half of her mouth cleaned.
But no cavities--- so she still got a toy!

Reminders of Gratitude
Kathryn is sick tonight--- she's had a fever off and on the past several days. A dry cough. Runny nose. Tears in her eyes. Her activity level has gone from a 9 down to a 2, up to an 8, then dropping back down. She requires snuggles and naps, which are nice. She is also whiney and cranky, which is not so nice. The poor sweetheart hasn't slept well the past four nights, which means I haven't either.
My mommy heart goes out to her. It pains me to see her suffer. I love that I am capable to care and love for my little girl while she is ill. With her background, I can't help but be thankful this is just a cold. I'm so grateful my three children are overall very healthy. And that we live in a time when medical technology is on the earth so when they are not perfect health wise, we can help them.
So, get better sweet little one. We love you so much.

Happy Birthday Dear Kathryn!
Our BABY isn't a BABY anymore! She is a BIG GIRL! And She will be the first to tell you this!
I recently started a job and had to work on her birthday, but when she came into our bed around 4 AM both Daddy and Mommy were able to to sing to her and kiss her. Thankfully she went back to sleep until wake up time!
For dinner we went out to Red Robin with Grandma and Grandpa(Forgetting my camera! Poor poor third child!). We were SOOO lucky to have our good friends Garret and Haylee join us! Haylee is one week younger than Kathryn so we had them sing to them both! It was fun to pretend to be a family with five kids.
At home both of the girls were too full for any birthday cake, so we opened presents and played games.
The REAL FUN was on Monday at the Sweet Shoppe Birthday Party!
My AMAZINGLY TALANTED Friend and Neighbor Erica, aka Haylee's Mom, put on a magical party for the girls. The kids had so much fun! I lovingly stole some pics off of Erica's blog-- but you should check it out to see her post and posts in general to see all of her amazing talents: http://jnesorenson.blogspot.com/

Remembering
Remembering what we were going through a year ago--- hardly seems like it happened at all. But it was sure traumatic when it did.
We have an ultra sound set up for the end of November. Since Kathryn has had no issues, I fully expect them telling us how amazing she is and that we never have to see Dr. Lashly again.

Turning Two!
When I turned two, mom and I decided to celebrate by taking a bath and talking about my very first bath that, strangely enough, happened two years ago on my birthday! Taking a bath means washing my hair, which makes it nice and curly and people, even strangers, can't help but tell me how cute it is.
It was also forecasted to be a cold and rainy, possibly snowing day. But it was sunny and beeeeuuuatiful! Just for my Day! So we enjoyed a few walks- do you like my new Birthday Jacket? And notice my naturally red curly hair.
And finally, a birthday isn't a birthday without a little cake and singing!
I got lots of good gifts!
Overall I think its great being two. I get to scream and do whatever I want. I am getting better at telling my family what I want and when I want it(usually now). I love having an audience(except when mom asks me to perform) and I say: Look at Me! a lot. I sleep in my big bed and even though I am not sure I like it(its just too exciting to be able to get up and wander around whenever I feel like) I do like being a big girl.
My family loves me. I am adored by so many people. I am a very lucky and a very blessed baby! Here is to hoping I enjoy being two as much I as I enjoyed being one!

No More Daily Doses!
At around 5 months old Miss Kathryn was put on a daily antibiotic to help her with her kidney reflux issues. Kidney Reflux in itself is not a big deal, but when it causes infection from bacteria getting back into her kidney and growing it becomes a major deal. Especially when the kidneys are teeny tiny. Every infection causes scaring and too much scaring will ruin these delicate organs.

Today at around 21 months old Miss Kathryn got the go ahead from her Urologist to stop all daily doses of antibiotics. He told us we do not need to worry next time she gets a fever that it might be a UTI. Of course, we are to keep in mind the criteria and act accordingly if there are not other symptoms, BUT she should be a normal kid now!

Her ultra sound was a bit traumatic for her. She really does not like health care professionals. She likes her urologist, but wasn't so sure she wanted him touching her scar(which he made a straight line, not a lightening bolt like Nathan suggested). After we were out of there, she was happy. So were we.
Good Job Baby Girl!

Babies and Blankies
Kathryn loves her blankies. She isn't really attached to just one, but loves being snuggled. We swaddled her at naptime and bedtime for months and months too long(all our children actually, this might be why Nathan can't handle being held too tight- but the girls can!), but she has enjoyed the cuddle factor of a good swaddling. So long as it didn't interfere with her self-proclaimed independance.
Lately, she will bring me a blanket and simply turn around. She is expecting me to drape it around her shoulders so she can walk around wrapped up in it.
She also likes to roll on the floor with her blankie wrapped around her. She will ask me to swaddle her dolly up too and will even roll her dolly around on the floor.
Of course... she is just my little dolly.
